Motor vehicle assessors are legally obliged to report vehicles that have been involved in a serious accident to Car-Pass. This report is drawn up via Informex. You will no longer be able to drive the vehicle on the road until it has passed a specific Post-Accident Vehicle Inspection. This means that if you buy a vehicle that still needs to undergo a Post-Accident Vehicle Inspection, you will not be able to register the vehicle until the vehicle has been professionally repaired and thoroughly assessed.

The specific check is mandatory for damage to all components considered of high importance to the safety of the occupants and other road users. This concerns in particular: the chassis, steering, suspension and braking system. This will appear on the Car-Pass until this assessment has been completed.

Please note that this obligation has been mandatory since 1 March 2019. This means it will not be reported on the Car-Pass of vehicles that were reported by experts before that date.
